The Health Facilitation and Involvement Team listens to people’s experiences of health care to make services better for people with a learning disability.
What is Co-production?
Co-production is based on the idea that the people who use services are the best people to design them.
When co-production happens all the people involved in a service share power – “we are all experts in different ways”.
Co-production in the Learning Disability Service
In the Health Facilitation and Involvement Team we employ people with a learning disability.
They use their experience of healthcare services, to help to make our services better.
We work as a team of co-workers.
This means people with a learning disability and people without working with each other as equals.
